OUR GUIDE

Dr. Ted Wise has an interesting and varied background. He is a qualified freshwater biologist with an honours degree in Zoology. Ted gained a doctorate for his work on Northumbrian river systems and became a lecturer in zoology at Dublin University. His research work in Ireland included a joint project on lake management and fishery science. Tina, Ted's wife, is also a qualified biologist with a doctorate in animal physiology.

For 25 years they owned and managed a small coastal estate at Westloch, Coldingham in Scotland. Here they developed a successful business that included the provision of recreational fishing on Coldingham Loch and self-catering accommodation. They built their own trout hatchery and re-instated a smaller man-made loch. Ted and Tina have also planted an extensive area of mixed woodland for both amenity and wildlife.

Ted's other interests include bird watching, natural history, trout and salmon fishing, sea angling, and wildfowling. As a result of many years of experience in this area Ted has been able to further his key interests and the formation of Clifftop Discovery has given him the opportunity to combine these with his natural enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, this unique coastline.
